Local workshops in Romania

Between 16th and 22th of July 2016 local workshops were conducted in Bucharest, Romania, as part of the project Active for future. Romanian Youth Forum has conducted 2 local workshops, which were led by youth workers, with the intention to develop skills, knowledge and abilities of the youth, so that they can increase their chances for employment through so called youth initiative.
Youth workers that implemented local workshops attended training on this topic in May 2016 in Nairobi, Kenya, where they gained new skills and knowledge for support in developing youth initiatives. As part of local workshops this knowledge was upgraded and adjusted according to the local needs of the youth.
The first local workshop was conducted on 16th of July and was divided into 3 two hour parts. At first the participants got information about the youth initiative, what it is and how we can design and implement it. Group work represented an important part of workshop, where the participants were divided into small groups and where brainstorming for ideas in how to improve or solve the encountered problems.
The second local workshop was conducted on 22th of July and was divided into 3 two hours parts. Participants first focused on preparing their youth initiatives in the possibility of developing a business out of it, and then developed 20 new ideas for further development. At the end the participants presented their developed youth initiative.
Presented youth initiative will be performed in the following months by the help of local organization Romanian Youth Forum.
